Hi and Welcome! I’m Joanna<\/em> and I’m the creator of this blog. I am a writer, a photographer and a cookbook author. My husband Remo<\/em> also helps me and does all the behind the scenes stuff, like tech support, accounting, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also have a new pup, an Aussie Doodle <\/em>and his name is Han Solo. He’s the cutest dog alive, yes I know I’m biased, and he’s super active and keeps us laughing all day long. Many times you’ll see me share pictures of him and his shenanigans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As long as I can remember I’ve always loved to cook and putz around in the kitchen. I’m seriously passionate about food and I do consider myself a foodie! I love all food and I will always try everything at least once, well maybe except bugs. I won’t try bugs and cats or dogs! But everything else goes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am totally self-taught and have no formal culinary training but I have been cooking for over 20 years. I’ve learned from my mistakes because there have been mess-ups in the kitchen, but I think that’s what makes us stronger and better at what we do. I love Julia Child’s style of cooking but I love to simplify meals, so that they are more attainable<\/em> for the everyday cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my previous career, I worked in the IT world doing software development and while it was the job of my dreams for many years, it was quite stressful. Years ago I turned to cooking and blogging to relieve stress and started my first blog, which is quite successful and popular,\u00a0Jo Cooks<\/a>. Why start another blog? Why not! I just love what I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also love to bake<\/strong> and I find baking quite therapeutic, so every once in a while you’ll see something from me in the baking department. But most of all you’ll see delicious<\/strong>, fast<\/strong> meals that are perfect<\/strong> for busy weeknights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love to take old recipes and put my fresh takes<\/em> on them to make them easier<\/em> yet still burst with flavor<\/strong>. I will make you crave home cooked<\/em><\/strong> meals, fresh and made from scratch every night of the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
