I can honestly say that I could eat pasta every day and, no, that&#8217;s not an over-exaggeration. I used basic every-day ingredients to give you a casserole that is delicious and comforting all on its own, but it so easy to <strong>customize<\/strong> to your personal tastes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This seriously is one of my all time favourite meals. What&#8217;s not to love, we&#8217;ve got lots of cheesy creamy pasta that&#8217;s loaded with chicken then baked to perfection. I used a rotisserie chicken, totally simple and delicious.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Butter &#8211;<\/strong> Unsalted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Garlic &#8211;<\/strong> Feel free to add more or less depending on your preference.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Flour &#8211; <\/strong>All purpose flour to thicken the sauce. You can use a cornstarch slurry instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Broth &#8211;<\/strong> I used chicken broth, but vegetable will work too. Try to use low-sodium.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Half &amp; half cream &#8211;<\/strong> This is half milk, half cream. Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking. Preheat the oven to 375F and grease a 9&#215;13&#8243; baking dish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make the sauce: <\/strong>Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saut\u00e9 the garlic for about 30 seconds, then whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.Whisk in the broth and cream, then bring to a simmer while stirring until the sauce thickens. Add the spices and cheeses, then stir until smooth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assemble the casserole: <\/strong>In a large bowl, mix the pasta and chicken with the sauce. Add everything to the prepared baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until the cheese starts to brown. I used a rotisserie chicken because the meat is always wonderfully pull-apart tender. Store in the fridge for 3-5 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you want to make this recipe ahead? Prepare all the ingredients in the baking dish, wrap well with plastic, and then top with a layer of foil. It will last 3-6 months in the freezer. To bake, transfer the baking dish to the fridge the night before to thaw.
