For this extremely easy recipe, found on the back of probably every single box of Rice Krispies ever manufactured, you will need:
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
4 cups marshmallows (fresh mini-marshmallows work best here)
6 cups crisp rice cereal
A sheet of parchment paper (this is my gift to you; you’ll thank me for this tip later!)
**********
- Butter a 9×13 or 8×8 pan and set aside.
- In a large saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter.
- When the butter has melted, add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
- When the marshmallows have melted and are smooth, cut off the heat and add the cereal.
- Stir, stir, stir, until the cereal and marshmallows are well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the buttered pan. Use the parchment paper to spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
- Set aside until cool (no need to refrigerate).
- Cut into squares and devour immediately. They are SO GOOD!
