Recipe: Rice Krispies Treats

For this extremely easy recipe, found on the back of probably every single box of Rice Krispies ever manufactured, you will need:

3 Tbsp. butter or margarine

4 cups marshmallows (fresh mini-marshmallows work best here)

6 cups crisp rice cereal

A sheet of parchment paper (this is my gift to you; you’ll thank me for this tip later!)

**********

  1. Butter a 9×13 or 8×8 pan and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. When the butter has melted, add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
  4. When the marshmallows have melted and are smooth, cut off the heat and add the cereal.
  5. Stir, stir, stir, until the cereal and marshmallows are well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the buttered pan. Use the parchment paper to spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
  7. Set aside until cool (no need to refrigerate).
  8. Cut into squares and devour immediately. They are SO GOOD!
